Though land is scarce on Penang Island, there is still a pretty vast swathe of countryside across the island – both cultivated and wild. The undulating penang central hills especially is a playground for those who desires to get away from the concrete jungle.

After postponing (and sometimes thwarted by bad weather) exploration of the north west, a change in Annabel’s class & the long weekend offered a great opportunity to finally ticking it off the bucket list. 4.5 hours of just exploring, “getting lost” (some sections had no visible trail) & taking multiple refreshing dips under the cascade falls made the hour long drive to the trailhead simply worth it!
